Yes. You are able to drop off your camper as early as 7am and pick up as late as 7pm. Additional charges apply.
Yes. You can use pre and/or post camp care throughout the summer on an as needed basis, however, we always need permission in writing. If you find that you have a last minute post camp care situation, we need for you to call the camp office and follow up with an email directing us to keep your child in post camp care instead of going home on the van. Situations that might apply include: getting stuck at work and won’t be home for the bus, going upstate for the weekend and wanting to pick up your child on the way or having another child staying for a late night and wanting his or her sibling to stay in post camp care.
Additional charges include camp trips, horseback riding, and pre and post camp care. However, they are all optional.
Yes. You will need to present photo id to security upon entry and wear a Visitor’s Tag while at camp. You do not have to call ahead of time as we know you will be happy with what you see whenever you come! We do have designated Parent Visiting Days for our Nursery and Freshman divisions.
Deer Mountain has over 30 buildings and a 7,000 square foot dining hall – plenty of space for rainy day activities! In the case of hot weather, we add additional swim time in place of outdoor sports as we have ample pool capacity.
Assuming there is space on the other child’s van, we require written permission from both sets of parents, which can be sent via van mail, which is our intra camp postal system.
Freshman are entering K and 1st grades. Juniors are entering 2nd and 3rd grades. Inters are entering 4th and 5th grades. Seniors are entering 6th and 7th grades. Teens are entering 8th and 9th grades. Inters and up are considered Upper Camp.
Parent events are held during week 6 of camp for Nursery and Freshman campers. Juniors and Up participate in Late Nights which take place after camp during week 6. Please call the camp office for details.
We would be happy to extend your child’s time with us provided we have the space. Please just let us know by calling the camp office or emailing us at info@deermountaindaycamp.com.
We celebrate birthdays at camp by providing specially made camp cupcakes from an award winning bakery. Unfortunately, we do not allow any outside food in camp due to allergies.
Due to food allergies, outside food is prohibited on the bus to and from camp, as well as at camp.
Yes. Please notify us by sending a note in van mail. If the decision is last minute, please call us in the camp office and follow up with an email as we need to notify his or her division leader and van counselor. Parking is limited at the end of the day due to the presence of our camp vans, so you will not be able to enter our lot. There are a few parking spots in front of the fieldstone entrance, under our Deer Mountain Day Camp sign. Please park there, check in with our staff member and proceed to the Welcome Center to pick up your child.
We suggest the following: play clothes, sneakers, and socks for daily camp wear, 3-5 swimsuits for the week, pool shoes, hooded sweatshirt or light jacket, sunscreen, change of clothes, two gallon-size Ziploc bags labeled with your child’s name and group. Please label all clothing as well.
Group numbers and van times (and pick up/drop off locations, if applicable) will be emailed to you the week prior to camp.
